American Pride History Lesson

Malice began work with the Americas Army project in late July 2002 and working as the AACM Design Community Lead and public liaison over time met some great players and serious competitors within the Americas Army community. The logical next step was to organize a team of tight knit competitive players. Taking players from both within the Americas Army organization and from public servers. .AMp. began in late 2003 when a hand picked group of guys playing Americas Army (AA) got together to prove we can compete with the best. .AMp. members had come and gone, but some of the core players stuck together regardless of it's uncertain future. Through competition we generated some interest and made some great connections placing second in the Americas Army Special Operations Championships our first year, then placing first the following two years. Entering tournaments with TWL and others along the way. In November of 2004 AmericasArmy.com recognized the American Pride (.AMp.) website as the featured site of the month for content and design. Americas Army Tracker (AATracker.com) rated .AMp. the #1 U.S. Based team on CSAR for the month of May 2005 and the #10th ranked CSAR team worldwide that same month. In March of 2006 an opportunity arose to join .AMp. with ATi, a global video card manufacturer and overnight .AMp. became TeamATi. With the sponsorship from ATi, interest in the video card giant acquiring an Americas Army team grew in the AA community and Malice was later interviewed by CyberNinja of Americas Army (need link to interview) for a Q and A session. TeamATi changed sponsorships when AMD purchased ATi and with an unknown future TeamATi became Team Palit. Palit Multimedia pulled its sources from the US and many of the players were left without an organized team. Willie and Malice decided on January 1st 2010 that we needed to bring .AMp. back together and start the processes over again. Some members from TeamATi joined our ranks, former members of .AMp. rejoined and our community is slowly growing again.
